The Lorain County General Health District's Vital Statistics Office houses the birth and death records beginning in 1908 to the present. Certificates of births and deaths occurring in all of Lorain County, except for the city of Lorain, are available at the health district.

Robert E. Steele, 89, passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2008. He was the beloved husband of Geraldine (nee Fisher) for 58 years; dearest son of the late Eugene and Bessie (nee Criblez); brother of Fred (Marilyn) and Edward (Nina, deceased) both of Louisville, Kentucky, Howard (deceased) and Marcia (Skip, deceased) Jensen of Windham; uncle of many nieces and nephews.
He was a U.S. Army WWII Veteran who was in the North African and European Theaters.
The family will receive friends Sunday, November 16, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. in the Tomon & Sons Funeral Home, 7327 Pearl Road. (South of Bagley), Middleburg Heights. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, November 17, 2008 at 9:30 A.M. in St. Bartholomew Church. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Hospice Services of Southwest General, 18659 Drake Rd., Strongsville, OH 44136.
