High School roundup: Amherst girls advance to finals of Comet Holiday tournament

 AMHERST — Amherst made 26 free throws and beat Midview 49-40 in the first round of the Comet Holiday Tournament on Monday.
Ashley Aponte scored 18 points and Olivia Sliman 15 to lead Amherst (5-1). Jacki Street scored 15 for the Middies (3-3).

CLEVELAND HTS. — Keystone suffered only its second loss of the season, unable to take advantage of a halftime lead against Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary in the first round of the Beaumont Holiday Classic.
