Area motorsports: E-Mods to run 30-lapper tonight at Lorain County Speedway
The E-Mods will be in the spotlight tonight at Lorain County Speedway. The
open- wheel machines will run a 30-lap, $800-to-win feature.
The Limited Late Models, Street Stocks, Chargers and a special Powder Puff will fill out the card.
A special drawing will be held for a a 20-inch bicycle. Tickets for the bike raffle will be distributed at the ticket booth upon entering.
The track will also have its new 60th Anniversary souvenir program available for the first time tonight at the concession stand.
WOBL 1320-AM will broadcast the race live with Brian Deitz and Matt Florjancic calling the action beginning at 6:55 p.m.
Pit gates open at 2:30 p.m., the main gate at 3, practice  at 3:30, qualifying at 4:45 and racing at 7 p.m. Adult admission is $12, $6 age 6-12, 5 and younger free. A pit pass is $25 for members and $30 for non-members. VIP parking is $5.
The current E-Mod top 10 point standings are: Tigh Shaffer 170, Joe Shannon 162, Mike Lawson 157, Rick Harmon 154, Stephen Klinect 152, Mark Smith 143, Andy Hoskinson 141, Steve Harmon 139, Jeff Fade Jr. 125 and Jeff Gunter 123.

Two at Sandusky
Sandusky Speedway has a doubleheader on tap this weekend.
Bartlome Electric is sponsoring tonight`s program which will include the season debut of the Buckeye Super Sprints.
Modifieds, Street Stocks and Spectator Stocks will round out the program.
Pit gates open at 2:30 p.m. with main gates opening and hot laps beginning at 3:30. Qualifying is at 5 and racing at 6:30 p.m. Admission is $10 and $5 for age 6-12. Age 5 and younger and those with a military ID will be admitted free. A pit pass is $25.
Last week`s feature winners were Nick Diano (Modifieds), Mike Sims (Sportsmen), Stephen Schlea (Street Stocks) and Devon Gibson (Spectator Stocks).

Sandusky`s first Enduro Races of the season will be held Sunday.
There will be a race for full-size cars and one for the front-wheel-drive cars. Each will be 100 laps.
Gates will open at 11 a.m. with racing at 2 p.m. Adult admission is $10, $5 age 6-12, 5 and younger free. Car entry is $40 and a pit pass is $20.
School days at Summit
The 21st Annual NAPA High School Nationals will be held today at Summit Motorsports Park.
The event normally draws more than 700 high school-age licensed drivers. It is open to street legal cars, trucks and motorcycles.
The University of Northwestern Ohio is offering a first-place prize of a $10,000 scholarship. Second place is a $5,000 scholarship and the two semifinalists will each receive a $2,500 scholarship.
In addition there will also be a YouTube contest in which students can produce videos about the High School Nationals, a 16-car smoky burnout contest, a judged car show and extreme games.
Admission is $12 for adults, $5 age 6-12. Tickets include free parking and pit access. Gates open at 9 a.m. with time trials at 10 a.m. and eliminations at 4 p.m. Call (419) 668-5555
Coming up Friday-Sunday: Summit Motorsports Park will host the 3rd Annual Cavalcade of Stars which will include 16 funny cars, 16 dragsters, four jet dragsters and two nostalgia wheelstanders.
Meadowlarks at work
The Amherst Meadowlarks Motorcycle Club has a work party scheduled for this morning and a NMA qualifying race set for Sunday. The gates will open on race day at 7 a.m. with practice at 8 a.m. Racing will start at 10 a.m. Gate fees are $10 for non-members, free to members and those age 6 and younger. It will be Burns Iron and Metal Night at Fremont Speedway tonight. The 410 &Â 305 Sprints and Dirt Trucks will race. Gates open at 4 p.m. with racing at 7. Admission is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, $6 age 11-16, free to age 10 and younger and $25 for a pit pass. Call (419) 333-0478.
** Raceway 7 in Conneaut hosts Family Night on Friday, May 15. The five for $25 deal will include hot dogs, pop and chips. The Parking Lot Drags will be the added attraction, with regular racing by Late Models, E-Mods, Street Stocks, Challenger Mini Stocks and Enduro Stocks.
