LORAIN – A 14-year-old girl told police her mother`s boyfriend has been sexually assaulting her since Easter.

Police were called Tuesday at 9:51 p.m. after the girl and her brother went to an aunt`s house. The aunt told police she was surprised by the visit, but her niece and nephew assured her that nothing was wrong.

Minutes later, the boy began to cry and told his aunt that their mother`s boyfriend, 29, has been touching the 14-year-old inappropriately as recently as that morning, according to police.

In that incident, the girl was woken up at 5 a.m. by the boyfriend, who wanted to know if her mother was still at home or if she had gone to work. The girl checked, and, when she returned to tell him her mother had left, he allegedly began touching the girl`s breasts, buttocks and pelvic area with his hands and pushed her onto her bed, according to police.

The man then attempted to pull her underwear off while covering her mouth with his other hand, but the girl continued to struggle for several minutes, and the man “lost interest and stopped his attack,” according to a police report of the incident.

He threatened to kill the girl and her family if she reported the incident and then left her bedroom. The girl later told her brother what happened and the two told their mother, but she did not believe them, according to police.

The two told police they no longer felt safe in the home and asked to live with the aunt. Police made arrangements for the children to stay with their aunt while police investigate.
