City asks residents to protect their parks
City officials are asking residents to be on the lookout for anyone who appears to be up to no good at any of the city`s parks and athletic complexes this summer.
The plea is prompted by past summers when vandals caused considerable damage to city park property, according to Safety-Service Director Denny Johnson.
“We just want to put people on alert, so if they see anything, to make a call to the city or police.”
More of the damage has been done at South Central Park, the city`s major park, but vandalism has also occurred at the Frontier Park football and soccer complex near Mills Creek and the baseball complex off Shady Drive.
“We know it`s coming every year,” Johnson said. “We`re asking for residents to give us a hand. We`ve all got cell phones. We want it to stop.”
Anyone who sees anything is asked to call the city at (440) 353-0811 or North Ridgeville Police at (440) 327-2191.
