LORAIN — Former Lorain police Officer Corey Earl has accused his ex-girlfriend of stealing his washer and dryer from his Lorain apartment while he was hospitalized last May after suffering a series of strokes.
The ex-girlfriend, Nadine Glass, obtained a civil stalking protection order against Earl, 47, last week.
Glass, 38, has accused Earl, who took a disability retirement earlier this year, of calling and texting her, following her, driving by her home and harassing her new boyfriend. They haven’t dated in more than a year, she said in court documents filed last week when she obtained the protection order.
In Earl’s complaint against Glass, who has not been charged, he said a neighbor recently made him aware of the thefts and told him he saw Glass take the washer and dryer.
Earl had a number of legal problems in his final years with the Lorain Police Department, including a complaint filed against him by Glass that accused him of sending her harassing text and voice messages. He was never charged in that case.
But Earl did plead no contest in March to telephone harassment charges filed against him by his ex-wife, Laura Earl.
In the summer of 2007, Laura Earl obtained a protection order against her then-husband after he reportedly threatened to shoot himself in their Amherst home. Earl was later accused of violating that protection order, but the charges were dropped.
Earl also had problems with the department for allegedly threatening to beat a sheriff’s corrections officer with a baseball bat, harassing Glass’s ex-husband and writing a joke traffic ticket.
