Even though Elyria isn’t having a fireworks display this year in honor of Independence Day, there are others to attend in Lorain County over the holiday weekend. They are:
Friday
North Ridgeville
Fireworks will begin at dusk at South Central Park.
Saturday
Avon
A fireworks show will follow the Lake Erie Crushers game at All Pro Freight Stadium.
Avon Lake
TrueNorth Cultural Arts will host a patriotic concert at 8:15 p.m. at Miller Road Park on Lake and Miller roads after which the city will present fireworks. The concert is free and open to the public, and it will serve as the closing of the TrueNorth Arts Fest, which begins at 2 p.m. that afternoon at the park.
Lorain
There will be a jazz concert 7 to 10 p.m. at Black River Landing featuring the band Forecast with fireworks at dusk across the river at Lakeside Landing. Fireworks will be launched from the Spitzer Marina pier. The concert is being sponsored by WNWV “The Wave” radio 107.3 FM.
A fireworks show also is planned following the NorthCoast Knights’ baseball game at the Pipe Yard.
