Grafton Township firefighters investigating motor home fire

GRAFTON TOWNSHIP — The Grafton Township Fire Department battled a motor home fire called in shortly after 10 this morning and remained on the scene with the Lorain County Sheriff’s Department until just before noon.

Firefighters asked for fire investigators to be sent to the scene, 36069 Dellwood Road, where the Fleetwood Expedition recreational vehicle was parked in the driveway of a single-story home.

Chronicle photographer Chuck Humel, who was at the scene, said little of the fire damage was visible on the exterior of the RV. He could see smoke coming from the back end of the vehicle when he arrived and saw where a window appeared to have been broken out but “never saw orange or flames.”

No further information is currently available.
