Man trapped beneath cherry picker after semi crash

LORAIN – Two people were injured this morning after a semi loaded with coiled steel hit a cherry picker at East 28th Street and Seneca Avenue.

Lorain fire Capt. Tom Sultzer said firefighters had to extricate a man from beneath the cherry picker after the 8:30 a.m. accident. That man was taken by helicopter to a Cleveland hospital, he said.

The driver of the semi was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, he said.

The names and conditions of those involved in the accident were not available this morning.
