Engine Club Show this weekend
LaGrange Engine Club will host its 39th annual show today through Sunday at the Lorain County Fairgrounds, Wellington. The show will be open until 5 p.m. today and then 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
LaGrange Engine Club members display all types of farm equipment, including steam traction engines, portable steam power plants, farm tractors, garden tractors, small gas engines and more.
Admission is $3 with children under 12 free of charge when accompanied by an adult. Exhibitors are admitted free of charge.

Also, beginning today, the Keystone Band Boosters will host a pancake breakfast at the LaGrange Engine Show at the county fairgrounds.
From 6 a.m. to noon today through Sunday, guests can have all-you-can-eat pancakes, sausage and a beverage. Cost is $6 for adults, $3.50 for children 2 to 10 and free for children under 2. All proceeds will benefit the instrumental program for students in grades 5 through 12 in the Keystone School District.
Car cruisin’
Keystone Pointe will host a Car Cruisin’ 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, 383 Opportunity Way, LaGrange. A “Resident Award” will be given to the best vehicle.
Golden get-a-ways
The next Golden Get-a-Ways luncheon will be 12:15 p.m. Monday at the VFW Hall on Huron Street, Grafton. The luncheon is free of charge and is being hosted by the GFC/GFWC Midview Women’s Club and the VFW.
Fish fry
Come join the Grafton VFW Post 3341 for a fish dinner 5 to 7 p.m. Sept. 25 at the Post on Huron Street, Grafton. The event is open to the public and carry-out meals are available. Call (440) 926-3341.
Tailgating events at KHS, MHS
The Keystone Athletic Booster Club and football moms will host tailgate dinners before the remaining home football games on Sept. 25, Oct. 2 and Oct. 23. Football fans are invited to join in the fun 6 to 7 p.m. in the lot by the football stadium and dine on burgers or brats, chips and a 20 oz. drink for $5. Proceeds will benefit the athletes at Keystone.
In Grafton, the Midview soccer boosters will host two Friday night tailgating parties behind the Midview High School on Capel Road. The tailgating events will be held at 5 p.m. on Sept. 25 and Oct. 16.
Both events will feature barbeque by Rotuno’s Barbeque, games, face painting, music and raffles.
Tickets are $10 for dinner or $7 for sandwich entrees. Dinners include choice of chicken or ribs, two side dishes, drink, dessert and raffle entry. Sandwich meals include a choice of pork or brisket sandwich, two dishes, drink and dessert, plus a raffle entry.

Belden pig roast
Belden United Methodist Church will be serving a pig roast 5 to 7 p.m. Sept. 26 at the church, 36130 state Route 303. Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for ages 7 to 12 and children 6 and under are free of charge.
Tickets will be available at the door, but pre-sale tickets can be purchased by calling the church at (440) 926-2209.
Pancake breakfast
A harvest pancake breakfast will be 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 27 at the Carlisle Visitor Center, 12882 Diagonal Road, LaGrange.
The breakfast will include all-you-can-eat blueberry, plain with strawberries or chocolate chip pancakes served with sausage, juice and a beverage. Cost is $6.50 for adults, $4 for children 3 to 10 and free for children 2 and under.

Car, bike show
Carlisle Township Fire Department will host its third annual car and bike show 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 27 at the fire station at state Route 301 and Diagonal Road.
Cleveland Metro Flight will make an appearance and Factor stock, custom/pro street, fire trucks and modified bikes will be on display. Refreshments will be available.

Chicken barbecue
Eaton Township’s fire and rescue departments will host a chicken barbecue 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct 4 at the station, at the corner of state routes 82 and 83. Tickets are $9 for adults and $4 for children. Call (440) 748-2496.
Grafton resident 2nd in competition
Grafton resident Alecia Michitsch was part of a team of five Ashland University undergraduate students who competed and claimed the second place award in the third annual Entrepreneurship Immersion Week Program held at Kent State University.
Michitsch is a junior business management major at Ashland University and the daughter of Timothy Michitsch and Maria Milano. She is a 2007 graduate of Midview High School.
