1:38 a.m. — Park Avenue. Emile White charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, one-way street and marked lanes.
Monday, Sept. 14
4:30 p.m. — Amherst police station. A woman reports her $150 cell phone taken from her vehicle as she shopped at a Cooper Foster Park Road business.
Saturday, Sept. 19
12:54 a.m. — State Route 2 entrance ramp from state Route 58. Steven Simmerman charged with driving under suspension and reckless operation.
2:26 a.m. — North Main Street and Habant Drive. Derek Nicol charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, reckless operation and marked lanes. Police said Nicol was driving a pickup involved in a two-vehicle accident. Nicol was treated for minor injuries at Community Regional Medical Center in Lorain.
Sunday, Sept. 20
12:25 a.m. — 712 N. Leavitt Road. Anthony Lucky, 20, charged with underage consumption, open container, disorderly conduct by intoxication and loud-excessive music after police checked out a complaint at a Speedway gas station.
2:21 a.m. — Pearl Avenue. Vincent Gunnoe charged with possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and stop sign violation. A 15-year-old passenger was charged with drug abuse and curfew violations.
Monday, Sept. 7
2:53 p.m. — 400 block of Aldrich Road. Resident returned home from a Labor Day weekend trip to find his home ransacked and a gun safe taken from his bedroom and pried open after being dragged into his living room. The man reported a .380 Beretta handgun engraved with the name “Grubb” the only weapon missing from the gun safe. Also missing were two 19-inch TVs, a 32-inch TV and a 15-inch laptop.
Wednesday, Sept. 9
1:38 p.m. — 2400 block of Claus Road. Homeowner reported returning home from the Labor Day weekend to discover a substantial amount of damage and vandalism to his property. Damage included a broken pool ladder that was thrown into a swimming pool, along with three lawn chairs, a rug and a pool cleaning pole which punctured the liner. Police reported the pool filter had been torn from its mount and tossed down a hill, and a lock was cut on a go-kart that was secured to a tree. The go-kart was not taken. The man later reported additional damage to five patio chairs, a pool slide and swing set. The homeowner estimated the damaged items to be worth $1,225.
Saturday, Sept. 12
9:23 a.m. — 2100 block of Edgewater Drive. Resident reports theft of an air compressor with double tanks valued at $250, and a handcart from a home he is renovating. The man told police he suspects one of three subcontractors working at the site.
9:47 p.m. — Liberty Avenue at Claremont Road. Guy Bolyard charged with possession of marijuana following a traffic stop.
