Families come out for Carlisle Community Day
The seventh annual Carlisle Community Day was Sunday at the Carlisle Township Fire Department at state Route 301 and Diagonal Road. There were activities for kids scheduled throughout the day as well as a 50/50 raffle, cornhole and a DJ for adults. There also was a blood drive in memory of firefighter Ed Shepherd.

Metro Parks pow wow celebrates Ohio’s first residents
Visitors to the Lorain County Metro Parks’ Vermilion River Reservation celebrated Ohio’s first residents at a native American pow wow Saturday. The event featured live professional dancers and drummers, costumes, food and craft vendors and focused on the tribes native to Ohio.
