LAGRANGE TWP. — A one-vehicle roll-over accident early Saturday morning ejected a passenger and sent all three men inside to local hospitals.
Jared Lease, 24, of Grafton, was driving his 2005 GMC Sierra truck west on Biggs Road just west of state Route 301 at 2:45 a.m. when he lost control, said Ohio Highway Patrol Trooper Lance Deshuk.
“He went off the left side of the roadway, struck a ditch and overturned,” Deshuk said, adding that the truck came to rest on its wheels about 75 feet into a soybean field.
Center front seat passenger Ryan Griffin, 24, of Grafton, was ejected through the windshield during the rollover.
He was taken to EMH Regional Medical Center and transferred to Fairview Hospital. He was in critical condition Sunday night.
Lease, who was trapped in the truck, was freed with the Jaws of Life and taken to MetroHealth Medical Center, where he was listed in fair condition Saturday night, a nursing supervisor said.
The right front seat passenger, Marc Bowman, 24, of Lagrange, was treated and released from EMH, Deshuk said.
“It’s undetermined” whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash, Deshuk said.
The crash remains under investigation.
Bowman was cited for not wearing a seatbelt, Deshuk said, adding that none of the men was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
