Police log for Oct. 16, 2009
Lorain police
Wednesday, Oct. 14
2:44 p.m. – A 15-year-old girl came to the police station to report the theft of her school-issued laptop.
4:08 p.m. – 6400 Middle Ridge Road, McDonald’s, an employee reported the theft of one of their donations boxes. A witness also told police the woman tried to trade him $100 for four donations boxes while stopped a traffic light nearby.
4:59 p.m. – West Fifth Street and Reid Avenue bus stop, Patrick Black, 45, of Lorain, charged with felonious assault for hitting another man with a bicycle.
5:50 p.m. – 1700 block Garden Ave., Krista Taranto, 26, of Lorain, charged with felonious assault for hitting her mother’s boyfriend in the head with a bat. Taranto told police the boyfriend was assaulting her mother. Her mother denied this.
8:22 p.m. – 5300 block Leavitt Road, Super Kmart, Jody Thompson, 53, her 17-year-old daughter and a 15-year-old girl, all of Sheffield Lake, were charged with the theft of cosmetics.
8:59 p.m. – 3000 block Pearl Ave., theft of cell phone from Kwik Mart.
10:44 p.m. – 2700 block W. Erie Ave., a woman reported her ex-boyfriend threw a brick through the window of her home.
Thursday, Oct. 15
12:33 a.m. – 2300 block E. 37th St., Timothy Boardwine, 40, of Lorain, charged with aggravated burglary.
1:38 a.m. – 800 block W. 20th St., Larrey Phillips, 27, of Lorain, charged with driving under suspension, drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.
Elyria police
Wednesday, Oct. 14
9:30 a.m. – 100 block Warden Ave., a man reported a GPS unit, boots and a jacket stolen from his vehicle.
10:52 a.m. – 1000 block Barbara St., a woman reported someone pushed her head first into a wall.
3:11 p.m. – A man came to the police station to report the theft of $1,500 in miscellaneous items from his truck.
4:25 p.m. – A woman came to the police station to report her purse was stolen from her vehicle.
8:43 p.m. – 100 block Riverside Court, Heather Jarvis, 33, of Elyria, and Andre Curry, 43, of Elyria, charged with receiving stolen property.
8:45 p.m. – 100 block Midway Blvd., Wal-Mart, Barabara Wood, 23, of Elyria, charged with the theft of items.
