Lorain man robbed by new lady friend
LORAIN – A 39-year-old man was the victim of a beating and robbery around 10 p.m. Thursday after a girl he met set him up, according to a police report.
The Lorain man told police a girl he’d recently met known only as Lindsey called him Thursday and asked to come over.
The two drank together at the man’s residence in the 200 block of Florida Avenue.
At one point, the man left to get more alcohol, police said, adding that when he got back the girl asked him to go upstairs with her. Two men were waiting, according to the report.
The men, one black and one white, beat him up, tied his hands and feet with the cord to a fan and tried to hit him in the head with a rubber mallet while asking him “where the money was,” police said.
The two men took the $50 cash the man had and ran from the house calling for Lindsey as they went, police said.
They fled in a green four-door Tempo or Topaz, police said. Lindsey was described as white with a medium build and long brown hair. No further description of the two men was given.
