Lorain police

Monday, Nov. 2

6:31 p.m. – 300 block W. 25th St., video game system stolen from residence.

7:43 p.m. – 1900 block W. 11th St., window broken at Lakeview School.

8:23 p.m. – 2000 block . 13th St., concrete thrown through car window.

8:37 p.m. – 800 block W. 17th St., vacant home broken into. Kitchen cabinets, light fixtures, shower door and air conditioning unit stolen.

10:57 p.m. – 1300 block W. 13th St., Robert Vencill, 28, of Lorain, charged with domestic violence.

Elyria police

Monday, Nov. 2

8:00 a.m. – 400 block Middle Ave., window broken at Pro Driving School. Television stolen.

9:14 a.m. – 100 block Hodge Court, apartment window broken.

12:15 p.m. – 4900 Midway Mall Blvd., Sears, Amanda Duley and Rachel Mey, both 27 and of Vermilion, each charged with theft for allegedly shoplifting more than $400 worth of merchandise.

1:29 p.m. – 300 block Washington Ave., car window broken. Video games, iPod and prescription drugs stolen from vehicle.
3:04 p.m. – 200 block Bon-Air St., house and garage siding damaged by BB gun.

3:05 p.m. – 300 block Middle Ave., air conditioning unit vandalized at Dicken Funeral Home.

4:21 p.m. – 1800 block Lorain Blvd., central air conditioning unit stolen from residence.

5:35 p.m. – 700 block Gulf Road, bicycle reported stolen from Northwood Junior High School.

5:40 p.m. – Middle Avenue and Oberlin Road, Jeffrey Thomas, 36, of Elyria, charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and squealing tires.

9:19 p.m. – 900 block Foster Ave., car window smashed and GPS unit and approximately 50 CDs stolen from vehicle.
10:55 p.m. – 300 block Furnace St., sugar poured in gas tank.

Tuesday, Nov. 3

3:06 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. – 500 block Second St., Cameo Smith, 22, of Elyria, charged with disorderly conduct and menacing by stalking for repeatedly returning to his girlfriend’s residence after being asked to leave.

10:24 a.m. – 200 block N. Abbe Road, victim of online scam attempts to pass fraudulent check.

11:33 a.m. – 200 block E. Broad St., purse lost at Friendly’s.

12:56 p.m. 300 block Washington Ave., unauthorized use of debit card in the amount of $10,134.41.

1:45 p.m. – 100 block Cedar St., Thomas Hagler, 28, of Elyria, charged with possession of Ecstasy, possession of Oxycontin, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and having weapons under disability.

1:50 p.m. – 100 block Washington Ave., cell phone reported stolen.

2:02 p.m. – 1100 block E. Broad St., bad check for $22,095.39 used to purchase a 2008 Ford Mustang at Abraham Buick.

2:53 p.m. – 300 block Broad St., fake gold jewelry sold to Money Exchange for $2,100.

6:14 p.m. – Columbia and Sherman streets. Car window shot out with pellet or BB gun.

6:19 p.m. – 300 block Yale Ave., car window shot out with pellet.

6:47 p.m. – 8700 block West Ridge Road, Curtas Foster, 22, of Elyria, charged with assault.

6:58 p.m. – 900 block Salem Ave., purse stolen from residence.

7:42 p.m. – Car window shot out with BB or pellet gun.

9:00 p.m. – 500 block S. Abbe Road, television stolen from apartment while tenant was in hospital.

11:38 p.m. – 300 block 11th St., bricks thrown at moving vehicle, two windows smashed.

    C’mon. You aren’t going to check the funds first on a $22,095 check? Somebody writes a number on a piece of paper and you just give them a car? and the second one….shame on you. Good luck proving that the seller knew it was fake gold. Seems as though you should be checking these things before handing cash out.
