Corrections for Nov. 7, 2009

• There will not be an automatic recount for the three at-large seats on Amherst City Council unless the votes separating the third and fourth place finishers are within one-half of 1 percent after provisional ballots have been counted later this month. Lorain County Board of Elections Director Jose Candelario said that although second-place finisher Frank Janik and third-place finisher Terry Traster are close in votes, a recount isn’t necessary because it wouldn’t change the outcome of the election at this point. A recount would only be held if fourth place finisher Dennis Walters were to close the gap when the provisional ballots are counted, Candelario said. A story Friday was incorrect.
