New Chroniclet.com coming tonight!
Chroniclet.com has been growing faster than even we could have expected, so tonight we’ll be rolling out some changes to help us keep up with that growth.
We expect our Web site to be down from 6 to 7 while we upgrade our servers. Please bear with us because when we come back online, our Web crew is going to roll out a retooled Web site that’ll be cleaner, easier to use and offer some new features that we hope you will enjoy.
Some of the significant changes will include the elimination of the navigation bar that runs down the left-hand side of the Web site. Instead, there will be pull-down menus across the top of the page that quickly will guide you to the content you want to find.
We also are improving the photo slide show and adding Parade magazine content to the site.
In addition, we dedicated a cohesive space on the site for all the breaking news and updates of the day, so it’ll be easier to see what’s been added to Chroniclet.com since your last visit.
Our goal in embarking on this effort was to make our site more engaging and more useful to our readers. We know that www.chroniclet.com is where Lorain County residents turn to during the day to find the latest news, and we wanted a better way to present it.
Now here comes the technical part where we need your help.
As we roll this out, there might be some tweaks we need to make, so we are asking all of you to drop Web guy Boone Simpson an e-mail if you find a link that doesn’t work or something that doesn’t seem quite right. E-mail him at feedback@chroniclet.com.
Also, please take the time to let us know what you think about the new site. If you like something, let us know. If you don’t like something, let us know that, too. Contact Chronicle Managing Editor Julie Wallace at (440) 329-7157 or jwallace@chroniclet.com or Web editor Rona Proudfoot at (440) 329-7124 or rproudfoot@chroniclet.com.
Thank you for your continued support of The Chronicle-Telegram and of our Web site, www.chroniclet.com.
