No charges filed in Elyria Catholic threat case
ELYRIA — The investigation into threats made against four Elyria Catholic High School students by a fellow student is closed, officials said Thursday.
No criminal charges will be filed against the 16-year-old Lorain boy who reportedly made the remarks while working on a school religion project with three other students at a Lorain home, said Lorain Police Sgt. Mark Carpentiere.
“Nobody was directly threatened,” Carpentiere said. “He mentioned four students he’d thought about harming. He took no action. They were just his thoughts.”
The school is now handling the situation — an arrangement that satisfies the parents of the students involved, Carpentiere said.
Elyria Catholic Principal Amy Butler could not be reached for comment Thursday.
