Amherst’s Deme Morales is the only area player to earn first-team honors on the All-Ohio volleyball list released this week by the Ohio HIgh School Volleyball Coaches Association.

The Comets’ junior middle hitter, who earned the honor in Division I, led the Comets to a 23-4 record and a berth in the regional final, where they lost to Magnificat.

Junior Brittney Balser, a Grafton resident who was on that Magnificat team, made second team as did Olmsted Falls junior Dayna Roberts.

Elyria Catholic senior Zoe Zwegat made honorable mention in Division III.
