LORAIN — Two relatives arriving from Michigan to visit a Lorain woman ended up walking into a robbery in progress and were threatened with a gun and robbed. One of the victims was also shoved down and kicked in the mouth.

According to Lorain police reports, the pair — an 18-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman — arrived at the home in the 3000 block of Vine Avenue early Saturday afternoon.

Upon entering the house, they heard noises upstairs. Assuming someone was home, they went upstairs. While they were looking around, a man stepped out of a bedroom and pointed a handgun at them. The woman was then shoved onto the floor and kicked in the mouth.

The gunman then demanded “everything you got,” threatening to kill the pair if they did not comply. After making the pair strip off their pants and going through their coats, taking $49 in cash from one of the victims, the robber made them go into a bathroom and shut the door, then fled. The robber also stole $900 cash and a laptop computer from the residence.

Witnesses reported that the robber ran out the side door and got into the passenger seat of a red sedan. The car was observed heading west, then turned north onto Fulton Road.

Lorain police are investigating the case.
