INDEPENDENCE — The Golden State Warriors will play at Quicken Loans Arena on Tuesday night, but swingman Stephen Jackson won’t be with them.
Nor will he be with the Cavaliers.
Jackson, who had expressed a desire to play for Cleveland, was Monday dealt to the Charlotte Bobcats along with Acie Law in exchange for Raja Bell and Vladimir Radmanovic.
It is believed the Cavaliers dangled a package of troubled guard Delonte West and injured free agent swingman Wally Szczerbiak, whom Cleveland would have signed and then traded to Golden State.
The Warriors reportedly were interested in Cavaliers center Zydrunas Ilgauskas, who is making $11.54 million in the final season of his contract.
The Cavaliers, who are thin along the front line, weren’t going to include the veteran unless they got assurances the Warriors would quickly buy Ilgauskas out of his contract, which would have allowed him to re-sign with Cleveland 30 days later.
