Ohio's new "Beautiful Ohio" license plates.

COLUMBUS — Motorists can now show off their state with colorful new “Beautiful Ohio” license plates.

The Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles on Monday began offering customers who are buying or renewing plates the option of the new design, which shows a Wright Brothers plane, a barn and a city skyline. The state also still offers its standard “Sunburst” red, white and blue plate.

Either plate costs a total of $11.75, including fees. The bottom-line price increased earlier this year from the old cost of $6.25.
