Lions 38, Browns 37: Big day for offense, but bizarre loss for Browns
DETROIT — Eric Mangini was just plain sick. Eric Steinbach was sick, specifically to his stomach. Eric Wright’s discomfort was in a more vital organ. He was heartbroken. The Browns hadn’t suffered a crazy, it-can-only-happen-to-Cleveland loss in a couple of years. But the memories of Dwayne Rudd’s helmet fling and the bottles littering Cleveland Browns [...]
Lions steal win, prove themselves less bad ballclub
DETROIT — For two truly terrible football teams, the Browns and Lions certainly put on a show Sunday at Ford Field. The non-juggernauts combined to score 75 points, run 136 plays and amass 736 passing yards in a thoroughly entertaining game. In the end, though, Detroit proved to be the less bad ballclub and stole [...]

Decisions costly in Browns’ final moments against Lions
DETROIT — The clock read 00:00 and the Browns led by six. But it’s the Browns, so the sad story wasn’t complete. The Lions (2-8) scored the tying touchdown and kicked the winning extra point after time had expired Sunday, thanks to a penalty on the last play and a series of events that conspired [...]
