Visiting Angels, one of the nations most well respected, fastest growing providers of non-medical homecare services for seniors, celebrated 5 years of service to Lorain County residents in July and honored employees with their Caregiver Appreciation Day Picnic.
“I know it sounds cliché’ but it’s true that our caregivers are the lifeblood of our agency and are treated as family. We are blessed to have such professional, experienced caregivers who are dedicated and loyal to us. Many of our caregivers are celebrating as many as 4 years of service with Visiting Angels. We pride ourselves on our caregiver retention and feel that it is why we retain our clients much longer than most homecare agencies. We do a lot hugging, and laughing in our office and the caregivers feel comfortable talking to us. Our philosophy is happy employees, equals happy customers!
Many of our employees come to us from facilities and are more than ready to give the one on one attention they wish to provide. Our caregivers have said our individualized care plan and introduction make all the difference and helps them feel more confident to provide the best care possible. Many have taken care of their own parents or grandparents and know firsthand what they would want for their loved ones. They understand the importance of continuing education, and supervision in the home.
Our caregivers have a passion for keeping seniors safe in their own homes, and advocate well for those in their care. It’s wonderful to see a bond form between client and caregiver that is respectful and warm. They share our vision to be the most professional, on time, dependable and thorough homecare around, and only those who put the client first, self second, can work here.
My standards are strict and our caregivers are held accountable, but not one is offended or likes working here any less. Many of our long term employees have said that it’s the rules and boundaries that make this such a nice place to work. I know our caregivers feel they are treated well, listened to, and respected. Their input is respected and appreciated; they are our eyes and ears in the home.
Our caregiver team at Visiting Angels works with all aspects of the healthcare team to keep the senior in the home for as long as possible. We service independent clients to hospice patients that require complete care. And are also hired for bedside companions or patient advocates for a loved one in a facility. With the word angels in our name, we have to be good!”
My deepest gratitude and highest praise goes out to all the caregivers here at Visiting Angels of Lorain County. We are grateful and appreciative for all your hard work and dedication and feel blessed to know each of you. Here’s to another great year! Keep up the good job and know that you are truly angels!
