ELYRIA — A 22-year-old Lorain man has been indicted on charges he shot another man on West 11th Street in Lorain on Oct. 23 during an armed burglary.

Edward McAfee Jr. faces two counts each of felonious assault, aggravated burglary and having weapons under disability as well as one count of theft.

He faces eight gun specifications in the case.

McAfee was being held in lieu of $250,000 bond at the Lorain County Jail.

Lorain police Sgt. Mark Carpentiere said previously that McAfee was picked up within two hours of the shooting in October and that he has a past conviction for trafficking in drugs.

At the time of the shooting, McAfee was awaiting trial on several weapons charges, including carrying a concealed weapon and improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle.

He also has assault and domestic violence convictions through Lorain Municipal Court, records show.
