Report: Man in truck tried to lure teen girl

LORAIN — A man reportedly tried to lure a 16-year-old girl into his pickup truck Friday afternoon, according to a Lorain police report.
The girl, who had left school sick that day, was waiting to cross the street around 10:35 a.m. in the 5200 block of Oberlin Avenue outside her mother’s place of work to get something to eat when an older-model red pickup truck with a matching cap on the bed pulled up just past her, the report said.
The girl told police the driver motioned for her to come over to the truck, but when she waved him away, he opened the door and told her to “come back here right now.” She said she then screamed and went back to her mother’s office when he got out of the car. The man fled, and police were called.
A search of the area turned up nothing.
