GRAFTON — A Crook Street woman was forced to stay with family Saturday afternoon after a fire tore through her living room walls.
A fault in the sheet metal liner inside a fireplace insert installed in her living room allowed flames to enter the wall about noon, Grafton Fire Chief John Cutter said.
Smoke damage to the living room as well as electrical damage to the home made it uninhabitable.
