GRAFTON - For local jeweler Scot Kuhns, there is nothing more rewarding than being a part of an engaged or married couple’s life.
And that alone is one of the main reasons he opened Village Jewelry and Repair at 585 North Main Street, Grafton.

Despite the current economic slump, couples will still get married and anniversaries and birthdays will still be celebrated.
“There is nothing more rewarding in this business than being a part of guiding a couple getting engaged, married or (celebrating) anniversaries to that piece of jewelry that will become a symbol of the milestone,” Kuhns said.

Kuhns attended the Gemological Institute of American where he earned his accredited jeweler professional and diamond graduate certificates. He also attended Drouhard National Jewelers’ School where he earned jewelry repair and advanced diamond setting certificates.

Although we are in a recession, Kuhns said people are still getting married, having anniversaries and birthdays. Watch batteries still need replaced and jewelry, clocks and watches will still need repaired.

The focus of Village Jewelry and Repair is on jewelry, clock and watch services.
Kuhns also deals directly with gold refiners, which means money in the pocket of his customers, which is always helpful…especially during the holiday season.

The store also carries unique, in-style diamond engagement, wedding and anniversary rings. Kuhns also carries many one-of-a-kind colored stone pieces.
