Condition of man hurt in car crash improves

SHEFFIELD TWP. — A Vermilion man is recovering after a three-car crash Thursday that sent six people to the hospital.

Thomas Meadows, 34, was listed in good condition at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, where he was transported by helicopter from Community Regional Medical Center in Lorain after the crash on North Ridge Road.

Witnesses told the Ohio Highway Patrol that Meadows was driving a red Ford Focus erratically just before the crash. According to the Patrol’s report, he went left of center, striking a silver Ford Focus driven by Marjorie Kildow, 56, of Amherst. The impact spun Meadows’ car and it struck a red Ford Explorer driven by Brittney Bragg, 23, of Lorain. Meadows had to be extricated from his car.

Meadows may have had a medical condition that contributed to the crash, the report stated. No further details on that condition were given.

Kildow, Bragg and her passengers — Stephanie Hines, 21, Andrew Knowles, 2, and Jasmine Jiminez, 2, all of Lorain — were taken to EMH Regional Medical Center in Elyria and released.
