Injury updates for Brown and Grilli

It was bad news again for first baseman/outfielder Jordan Brown and relief pitcher Jason Grilli, both of whom were injured prior to the Indians exhibition opener against the Reds on Friday.

Both are expected to undergo surgery, Brown sustaining a meniscus tear in his right knee, while Grilli sustained what head trainer Lonnie Soloff called a significant right quadriceps injury.

Soloff said Brown would be out from 4-8 weeks, while Grilli’s season could be over.
