Browns reportedly trade linebacker Kamerion Wimbley
BEREA — Linebacker Kamerion Wimbley was traded to the Oakland Raiders on Sunday, according to Scout.com’s Adam Caplan.
It’s not known yet what the Browns will receive from Oakland.
Wimbley was the No. 13 pick in the 2006 draft out of Florida State. He burst on the scene with 11 sacks as a rookie, then totaled 15.5 over the next three seasons.
He played better in 2009, with 6.5 sacks and 69 tackles, so the move is a stunner. He started 62 of 63 games with the Browns.
