Firefighters, Columbia Gas respond to gas odor
The Elyria Fire Department and Columbia Gas are responded this morning after receiving multiple calls of a strong natural gas odor in the area of Erie Street in Elyria.
An initial call to the Fire Department came in a little about 7 a.m. from 209 Erie St. A caller at 157 Erie later reported the odor seemed to be strongest near an enclosed porch behind her home.
Calls were also coming in to 911 from Spruce Street, Foster Avenue, Dewey Avenue, Lowell Street and Lake Avenue.
According to a dispatcher there were “multiple callers very concerned.”
Columbia Gas also reported receiving multiple calls.
