The shooting occurred about 2:30 a.m. in the 1500 block of Fillmore Avenue. Lorain police Sgt. Mark Carpentiere said the boy was walking from a friend’s house to a relative’s home where he was staying when a vehicle pulled up next to him and and individual in the vehicle fired at him.
The boy was taken to Community Regional Medical Center, where the bullet, which traveled through his arm and into his lip, was removed. He’s since been released and is doing fine, according to Carpentiere.
Police have no suspects and no idea of a motive, Carpentiere said. Carpentiere said the victim has cooperated with police, but his description is very vague. He was unable to provide a description of the vehicle or the shooter.
“He really had no idea who could have shot him or why, and it was dark out,” Carpentiere said.
