11:58 a.m. – 2000 block W. 21st St., Shaks Korner, a woman reported that around 8 p.m. May 5 two men held a knife to her throat and punched and kicked her as she left the store. She said she was not robbed or sexually assaulted, according to a police report.
3:54 p.m. – E. 28th Street and Grove Avenue, Melanie Fields, 33, of Lorain, charged with excessive car stereo noise.
7:11 p.m. – 900 block West 30th St., tools, books, magazines and a child’s 4-wheeler stolen from garage.
7:43 p.m. – 2200 block Broadway, Rent-A-Center, an employee reported her cell phone stolen.
11:32 p.m. – 2000 block W. 21st St., Shaks Korner, two women, one of them four months pregnant, reported five other women attacked them while the two were getting gasoline.
Saturday, May 8
12:10 a.m. – 1500 block E. 30th St., Albert Ross III, 19, charged with driving under suspension, insufficient lights, no seat belt, unsafe vehicle, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop.
10:36 a.m. – 400 block W. Fourth St., the owner of the Coin Laundry reported after he asked a man panhandling outside his business to leave, the man shoved him and threatened him.
11:24 a.m. – 2300 block Adams St., house and vehicle hit with two orange paint balls.
11:45 a.m. – 5300 block Oberlin Ave., windows broken on vehicle belonging to Freda Electric and a cordless drill kit stolen.
1:27 p.m. – 3200 block Oberlin Ave., a woman reported a man slapped her and grabbed her purse as she was getting into her car.
1:45 p.m. – 1400 block Euclid Ave., house hit eight times with orange paint balls.
2:22 p.m. – 1900 block E. 42nd St., a $1,000 welding torch stolen from garage.
3:37 p.m. – 600 block W. 22nd St., two cell phones, a DVD/VCR, a DVD player and five packs of cigarettes stolen from residence.
4:23 p.m. – 1600 block Long Ave., vacant apartment broken into.
Friday, May 7
3 p.m. – 100 block Midway Mall, Dan Estes, 45, of Elyria, charged with the theft of infant clothing from Wal-Mart.
5:21 p.m. – 100 block Midway Mall, Matthew Mccauley, 31, of Elyria, charged with the theft of light bulbs from Wal-Mart.
7 p.m. – 3300 block Midway Mall, Verizon Wireless kiosk, an employee reported two Gateway Notebook computers were missing from the display case.
10 p.m. – 100 block Oak St., a 16-year-old Elyria boy was charged with the theft of a dirt bike.
11:25 p.m. – 500 block Broad St., Jack Woods, 40, of Hopewell, Va., charged with criminal trespass and obstructing official business after police broke up an alleged graduation party inside 561 Broad St. to which a 35-year-old Elyria man was charging admission.
Police said they saw signs of alcohol consumption, although the man in charge did not have a liquor license and did not have an occupancy permit to hold a party inside the building, according to a police report. Officers broke up the party but did not charge the 35-year-old man who leases the space from the building’s owner.

11:07 a.m. – 200 block Harwood St., a man reported his 2008 Jeep Wrangler stolen after police found it burned at Taylor and Olive streets.
1 p.m. – 100 block Cleveland St., Tiffany Sexton, 23, of Sheffield Lake, charged with possession of drugs, theft, obstruction of official business and misuse of a credit card; Cory Logan, 20, of Elyria, charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
1:10 p.m. – 200 block Cleveland St., a man reported that his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend followed him and has repeatedly threatened him and his girlfriend.
1:45 p.m. – 100 block Broad St., James Gause III, 18, of Lorain, charged with the theft of Axe Body Wash from Rite Aid.
Wednesday, May 5
1:29 a.m. – 600 block Cobblestone Drive, Amherst Township, Michael Ostanock Jr., 36, of Amherst Township, charged with improper use of 911 system after he twice called 911 — the second time claiming someone was dead at his residence, according to a report. There wasn’t a dead body, deputies said, adding that Ostanock appeared to be heavily intoxicated and was calling 911 to turn himself in on an arrest warrant.
11:43 p.m. – 1800 block West Ave., Elyria, Frank Huber, 21, of Elyria, charged with possession of marijuana, tail lights, driving under a drunken-driving suspension and on arrest warrants through Wakeman, North Ridgeville and Elyria police departments.
Friday, May 7
12:57 a.m. – State Route 2 between North Ridge Road and state Route 58, Amherst, Daniel Gonzalez, 37, of Lorain, charged with passing stationary public safety vehicles without caution, failure to reinstate and possession of marijuana.
