Man guilty in fatal accident

ELYRIA — A Lorain man who ran down a pedestrian and then fled the scene pleaded guilty Wednesday to aggravated vehicular homicide, vehicular homicide and other traffic and drug charges.

John Lynch, 40, turned himself in to police hours after he struck and killed pedestrian David Wynn, who was crossing state Route 58 at about 1:15 a.m. on Oct. 20, 2008.

Another driver found the 34-yearold Wynn, who died from internal chest injuries and multiple blunt force trauma.

Lynch’s driver’s license was suspended at the time he struck Wynn with a Ford Explorer.

Lynch will be sentenced later this year.
