LORAIN — Three Lorain boys told police they were chased through woods by people threatening to kill them yesterday afternoon. And when police returned to the park the boys had been playing at, bikes belonging to two of the three boys were missing.
A police report lists ages for two of the three boys as 12 and 13. The third is not listed.
Police were called to North Point Park Way a little before 4 p.m. yesterday.
The boys told police they had been riding on trails in a wooded area nearby. They then made their way to Michael Locust Park on Jaeger Road. The park is not maintained, according to the police report, and is overgrown with vegetation.
While at the park, they said they spotted a large structure and decided to explore it. Once they were inside, they heard someone outside.
They were scared, they told police, so they said they immediately ran. As they were running, they heard what sounded like two different male voices screaming “Don’t let them get away” and “We’re going to kill you.”
The boys said they don’t know how long the individuals followed them, but they did not stop running until they were back in the housing development.
One of the boys caught a quick glimpse of one of the suspects and described him as a teenage male wearing a white T-shirt and baseball hat.
Police checked the area, but didn’t find the suspects. When they took the boys back to the park to retrieve their bikes, two of them were gone.
