Last day to join us and Dump LeBron

Got LeBron gear you’ve got no use for?

There’s a better option than burning it, according to Chris Jungjohann. Junjohann has organized an effort to collect No. 23 gear to be sent to homeless shelters in South Florida.

People with LeBron James gear to donate can do so at any Yours Truly restaurant location. Anyone who turns in gear at a Yours Truly restaurant will receive a free “Breakup with LeBron” T-shirt in return while supplies last. More information is available at Breakupwithlebron.com.

And since there aren’t any Yours Truly restaurants nearby, Lorain Countians who wish to donate can do so in the lobby of The Chronicle-Telegram. They won’t receive the free T-shirt, but they can be confident their forsaken wear is going to a good cause.

Anyone who donates at The Chronicle, 225 East Ave., Elyria, will have the opportunity to enter a drawing for prizes — Cedar Point tickets, Jet Express tickets, African Safari tickets, and T-shirts and stickers from the folks at Breakupwithlebron.com, to name a few.

Anyone determined to get one of those “It’s not us, it’s you” T-shirts can order one for $15, plus $3 shipping, at breakupwithlebron.com. Proceeds from the shirts are going to the Cleveland City Mission.

Jungjohann, who helped organize the effort, said the “outpouring of positivity” has been amazing.

This effort, started by a “couple of guys,” he said, has “gone nuts,” with the video going viral overnight.

He said he wanted to do this because “there’s a better way to deal with your frustrations than burning jerseys.”

His hopes are to fill a U-Haul he can drive down to Miami. U-Haul has donated a truck to cart all the donations down south.

If you plan on dropping off LeBron gear at The Chronicle, you have until 5 p.m. today.
