GRAFTON TWP. — Three people were taken to the hospital after an accident last night in Grafton Township, according to the Highway Patrol.

Lt. Travis Hughes, commander of the Elyria Highway Patrol post, said the crash happened about 8:20 p.m. at Cowley and Grafton-Eastern Road.

He said a 1999 Toyota Camry driven by Anga Welo, 19, of Avon, failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with a Ford Escort driven by Ronald Riley, 46, of Columbia Station. According to Hughes, Riley was northbound on Cowley, and Welo was eastbound on Grafton-Eastern.

Riley and two passengers — Meaghan Camp, 20, and Matthew Sample, 20, both of Cleveland — were taken by Grafton EMS to EMH Regional Medical Center in Elyria.

Riley and Sample were treated and released from EMH. Camp was Life Flighted to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, where she was released about 1:30 a.m. today.

Hughes said the accident is still under investigation, and no one has been cited at this point.
