The Lorain County General Health District's Vital Statistics Office houses the birth and death records beginning in 1908 to the present.  Certificates of births and deaths occurring in all of Lorain County, except for the city of Lorain, are available at the health district.

Albert Thomas King

flag9Albert Thomas King, 90, of Smyrna, Tennes­see, died Wednesday, August 18, 2010. He was a native of Lorain and son of the late Bruno and Katie Shemanski Kosiorek.

Mr. King was a U.S. Navy veteran and a meat cutter for Meyer Goldberg Grocery. He was a former Councilman and organized the little league in Amherst. He was also a referee and served as Commissioner of the Lorain County Golden Gloves. His grandsons and great-grand­sons will serve as pall­bearers.

He is survived by his chil­dren, Larry (Linda) King, Leslie (Clyde) Stevenson, Kelly (Candy) King, Regan (Kathy) King, Kendall (Rob­ert) Gerken, Toby King and Tammy Percival; step­children, Sam (Karen) Spicer, Darrell (Joyce) Spicer, and Sharon (Doug) Wade; 23 grandchil­dren and 27 great-grandchil­dren.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Marie King in 2006.

Funeral services will be 11 A.M., Saturday, August 21, 2010, at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. Buddy Royston will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 P.M., Friday, August 20, 2010, and one hour prior to the service Saturday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. 615-459-3254.
