The Lorain County General Health District's Vital Statistics Office houses the birth and death records beginning in 1908 to the present. Certificates of births and deaths occurring in all of Lorain County, except for the city of Lorain, are available at the health district.

Kenneth A. FarnsÂworth, Jr, former WellÂington Water SuperinÂtendent, passed away August 30, 2010, after a long battle with cancer.
Kenny started workÂing for the Wellington Water Treatment OperÂations in November of 1958, after attending WellingÂton Schools. He subsequently attended advanced water treatment courses at Ohio State University, achieving many certifications, and was ultimately promoted to the position of Superintendent of the Water Treatment Operations and Assistant Director of Utilities for the Village of Wellington. Kenny was instrumental in the construction of the WellingÂton Upground Reservoir, in 1971-72, the construction and implementation of the Pitts Road Charlemont Pumping Station and the decommisÂsioning of the old north reservoir. Kenny retired in 1990, after 32 years of service. The Wellington Village Council recently passed a resolution to have the Pitts Road Charlemont Pumping Station named in his honor. Kenny also managed the Findley State Park Water Treatment Operations and the Pheasant Run Village Water Treatment operations in the 1970’s. Kenny was also a former member of the Wellington Township Board of Zoning Appeals.
Kenny was a 58 year memÂber and past president of the Wellington Eagles Club, a former Wellington Auxiliary Police Officer, a Director of the Lagrange Engine Club, and a former member of the Goldwing Road Riders. KenÂny was an avid outdoorsman and hunter and enjoyed traveling to Texas to hunt Rattlesnakes. He also hunted deer in Ohio and PennsylÂvania. Kenny restored many old tractors, including a Farmall Diesel 560 and refurÂbished a Ford 1930 Model A automobile. He also owned many motorcycles over the years, including Indians, Harley Davisons and Hondas. Kenny pulled many times in the Lorain County Fair tractor pulls and helped for many years doing tractor pull backs during the Friday night modified night tractor pulls at the Lorain County Fair.
Kenny was born December 3, 1933 in a farm house on Jones Road, which is now the location of the Metro Parks Lodge, next to the old South Reservoir.
Kenny is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Elizabeth J. (Teehan) FarnsÂworth; brother, Russell A. Farnsworth; sister, Edna Gower; daughters, Bridget (Simon) Yoder and Brenda (Paul) Breitenbach; sons, Kenneth K. Farnsworth and Christopher A. Farnsworth; grandchildren, Amanda (Dan) Colley, Katherine (Brett) McCoy, David Yoder, Jeremiah Yoder, Meghan Farnsworth, Marshall FarnsÂworth, Morgan Farnsworth, Alexander Breitenbach, ElleÂnor Breitenbach and greatÂgrandchildren, Martin McCoy, Brodrick McCoy.
Kenny was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Farnsworth; his mother, Harryette (Moore) FarnsÂworth and his sister, HarryÂette (Farnsworth) Cooper-Cornwall and an infant daughter.
Friends and family will be received Thursday, SeptemÂber 2, 2010, at Saint Patrick Catholic Church, 512 N. Main St., Wellington from 3 to 9 P.M., and also Friday, SeptemÂber 3, 2010, from 10 A.M., until the time of a Mass of ChrisÂtian Burial beginning at 11 A.M., with Reverend James Reymann as the Celebrant. Burial will follow at GreenÂwood Cemetery, Wellington.
