The Lorain County General Health District's Vital Statistics Office houses the birth and death records beginning in 1908 to the present. Certificates of births and deaths occurring in all of Lorain County, except for the city of Lorain, are available at the health district.

Cecil Negil Zinimon “Ce”, formerly of Elyria and a resident of Las Vegas, Nevada, went home to be with his Savior Wednesday, August 25, 2010 in the Valley Hospital of Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born February 14, 1965, in Chicago, Illinois.
Cecil was a graduate of Brother Rice High School class of 1984 in Chicago, Illinois. Mr. Zinimon returned to Ohio to complete all of his requirements to become a Journeyman Wireman in Ohio and for many years, he was an instructor for the Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee for the Electric Company. He was also on the Executive Board for one year and was employed in Las Vegas, Nevada with the CONTI Electric Company in Las Vegas.
Mr. Zinimon enjoyed music and was an avid sports fan.
He is survived by his son, Zachary and daughter, Tiara Zinimon, both of Elyria; stepmother, Mary Zinimon of Elyria; sisters, Treva (Robert) Carter, Lillie Doughty, Saundra (Leon) Abrams, all of Columbus; his mother, Marilyn Rowery; brothers, Enrico Matthews, Reginald Matthews, Andrew Rowery; maternal grandfather, Leroy Evan, all of Chicago, Illinois and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his father, Oliver Zinimon, Sr.; brother, Oliver Zinimon, Jr. and maternal grandmother, Josephine Evan.
Friends may call Friday, September 3, 2010 from 11 A.M. until time of service at 12 Noon in the Carter Funeral Homes, Inc. Chapel, 127 W. Bridge Street, Elyria. Rev. Anthoni D. McElrath, Pastor of Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Oberlin and Rev. Carlton Shumate, Pastor of Asbury United Methodist Church of Elyria, will officiate services. Burial will immediately follow in Westwood Cemetery, Oberlin.
