Girl reports that teen asked her to have sex
LORAIN - Police are investigating a complaint that a 17-year-old Lexington Avenue boy asked to have sex with a 12-year-old girl earlier this month.
The girl’s mother told officers that her daughter was playing with other children at the 17-year-old’s house a couple weeks ago when the 17-year-old kissed her and told her he wanted to have sex. When confronted by an officer earlier this week, the girl was upset and crying but nodded when asked if what her mother said was true.
Police spoke to the 17-year-old, who is on house arrest and wears an ankle bracelet, who denied having any contact with the girl. He said a lot of children from the neighborhood play at his house because a lot of children live there.
Teen says he was attacked buying pot
ELYRIA - An Elyria teen told police he was beaten by several men as he was attempting to buy marijuana.
Joshua Bailey said he contacted someone by text message that he knew only by the alias “Joe Pesh” and was told to park and wait in the 300 block of 11th Street about 1 a.m. Friday.
After waiting for a short time, an unknown black man opened the passenger door, sat down and told Bailey to show him the money.
Bailey pulled out $60 and the man grabbed the money and immediately began punching the teen in the head. Four to six other black males also came over and began beating the teen and going through his pockets looking for more money, police said.
One of the assailants went to high school with Bailey, who was able to identify him to police.
Police: Man ticketed, throws fit, is arrested
ELYRIA - An Elyria man was arrested Friday for littering after officers observed him throw a citation for not wearing a seat belt out his car window.
Police pulled over a maroon Explorer at the corner of East River and Chase streets after a call came in that a man in a similar vehicle was walking up to houses on Riverside Drive and then walking back to his vehicle.
The driver, Chip Looper, 54, was “agitated” that officers had pulled him over, according to police, and after he checked out OK, he was given a citation for not wearing a seat belt. As officers were walking back to their cruisers, Looper allegedly crumpled up the ticket and tossed it out his windows.
Officers walked back to Looper’s vehicle and told him to pick up the ticket, but he ignored their orders, according to police. After the second time ordering him to pick up the paper, Looper “exited the Ford while cursing at officers and picked up the citation,” according to a police report of the incident.
Officers then placed Looper under arrest and charged him with littering.
