Firelands High School’s head football coach, Todd Pooch, and another man caught up in an undercover sex sting pleaded not guilty Monday at their arraignments in Norwalk Municipal Court on solicitation charges.

The other man, 52-year-old John Kemper of Brunswick, and the 36-year-old Pooch, who lives in Sandusky, were arrested Thursday at a Norwalk hotel, where police said they made separate appointments to meet with an undercover agent, who was supposed to perform sex acts that they allegedly paid her for.

They were arrested after they had begun to act out scenarios with the agent. Pooch has since been placed on leave from the district. He had also taught at Lorain County Joint Vocational School.

A third man, Douglas Lucas, 53, also has pleaded not guilty to promoting prostitution charges for allegedly running an online brothel out of his Greenwich home.

He was arrested earlier this month during a raid that turned up numerous fetish items, including a dog cage and bowl.

All three men are free on bond.
