Lorain pair jailed in fatal stabbing in Flats

OBERLIN — Two Lorain residents were taken into custody in Oberlin early Sunday morning in connection with a fatal stabbing in Cleveland’s Flats district overnight.

Clifton Robinson, 33, and Lydia Nord, 31, were arrested in Oberlin after the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office notified Cleveland police that the Chevy Tahoe that Robinson and Nord were seen leaving the scene of the stabbing in was discovered in Oberlin around 6 a.m. Sunday.

Cleveland police went to the scene and made the arrests, the sheriff’s office said.

Kevin Ghee, 25, of Warrensville Heights, died at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland following the stabbing shortly after 3:30 a.m. Sunday in the parking lot of Earth Nightclub on Old River Road. According to the Cuyahoga County Coroner’s Office, Ghee died of multiple stab wounds.

The investigation is continuing, the Cleveland Police Department reported on Sunday, and no charges have been announced.

Police said Robinson and Nord had gotten into an altercation with Ghee inside Earth Nightclub. After bouncers broke things up, they told Robinson and Nord to leave. Police believe that the two waited in the parking lot and stabbed Ghee when he left the club.
