Olmsted Falls ousted in regional football championship

  Olmsted Falls got on the board first but ended up being overwhelmed by quick, tough Maple Heights 48-16 in the Division II regional final at B-W’s Tressel Field in Berea.  
The Mustangs (13-0) left their starters on the field and were driving until the end, even going for a two-point conversion on their final touchdown. Shaq Washington, who’s already committed to Cincinnati, piled up 327 yards and 5 TDs for Heights.



9:05 — Falls scores on its first possession with Denton Sagerman going 13 yards for the TD. PAT good. OF 7-0
8:50 — Maple Heights answers with 78-yard kickoff return by DeVonte Ransom. PAT good, 7-7
3:43 — MH scores on Shaq Washington12-yard pass  to Andre Stubbs. Washington’s 18th TD pass of season. PAT good 14-7
?? —  Falls gets a safety after Evan Rieke and Alan Binggeli sack MH QB Washington  in endzone. MH 14-9

  6:47 — MH scores again on Washington’s 12-yard run. MH 21-9
1:42 — MH Washington hits Dana Day for an 87-yard touchdowna, MH 28-9.
0:01 — OF Jeremy Ortiz throws to Brennan Laird on 7-yard halfback throwback on last play of the half. PAT good. MH 28-16 at halftime.
11:49 — After Falls’ half-opening onside kick fails, Devonte Ransom runs 50 yards on the Mustangs’ first play for a 34-16 lead. PAT no good.
4:53 — LeVon Perkins’ 40-yard TD catch from Washington gives Maple Heights a 40-16 lead. PAT no good.
10:15 — Shaq Washington 14-yard TD run. 2-point conversion. MH 48-16
