The entire structure was engulfed in flames when the Sheffield Village Fire Department arrived at 5555 Detroit Road at 12:51 p.m., according to a news release.
Crews used aerial devices to attack the main body of fire, and the 17 firefighters working at the scene finally extinguished it at 1:30 p.m.
A Sheffield firefighter suffered a facial contusion while working at the scene.
He was treated on site and resumed his duties, the release said.
Also, a bystander at the fire had a “medical emergency” and was transported to a hospital by the Sheffield Village Fire Department Rescue Squad. The name of the bystander was unavailable Sunday.
Sheffield Fire Chief Jeff Young could not be reached for comment.
The fire consumed the entire building and its contents, including repair shop equipment, one automobile, a tractor trailer and several motorcycles.
A damage estimate was not available Sunday, the news release said.
Afterward crews continued to work and assess the scene and did not leave until over two hours after the fire was extinguished.
