Sheriff Phil Stammitti to seek re-election

ELYRIA — Lorain County Sheriff Phil Stammitti announced today that he will seek re-election to a fourth term next year.

In a news release, Stammitti, a Democrat, said he’s proud of the work he’s done over the past 10 years, including technological upgrades and efforts aimed at protecting the county’s northern border and the creation of an anti-terrorism task force.

“My promise to the citizens of this county is that I will continue to do my best and work very hard to make Lorain County a safer place for all of us to live in and raise our families,” Stammitti said in the release.
