obit-flag4Patrick B. Frymier, 79, went to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, May 14, 2011 in Lorain.  He was born September 21, 1931 in Tanner, West Virginia.

He graduated from Glenville High School in 1949 and attended Glenville State College to become a math teacher. He entered the United States Army in 1952 and obtained the rank of Corporal while teaching in the medical corp.

He was the head accountant for the Elyria Telephone Company before starting his own business, Pat’s Citgo in Lorain, Ohio from 1962-1980. He then moved to Bokeelia, Florida and opened Pat’s Auto Repair in Fort Myers, Florida.

He officially sold his business and retired in 1997 but continued to work as a mechanic on a part time basis, whenever he was not fishing! At the age of 70 he was known as a “nighttime fixture in Matlacha, Florida”, where he would fish for snook 50 hours a week. When interviewed by the local paper it was noted that he spent more time fishing for snook than he dedicated weekly to his full time job before his retirement.

His family is thankful that he thoroughly enjoyed spending those healthy years doing what he loved, fishing, fishing, fishing!  Most importantly he spent his entire life as a living example of a faithful servant to Jesus Christ. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Elyria, before he moved to Florida and once he returned to Ohio, where he served as an usher, Sunday school teacher, and faithfully drove the bus for the Awana program for countless years.

He leaves behind his loving sister, Rita (Denzil) Huff; and faithful brothers, Clarence (Barb), Howard, and Francis (Betty); children, Dottie (Ron) Hammond of Elyria, Kim (Don) Ventling of Hamilton, John (Chrissy) Frymier of Lorain and Penny (Tom) Romantic of Ithaca, New York: loving and caring grandfather to Andrea, Kelly (fiancee Erik), Josh (Patty), Nicole, Brittany (Bryan), Matthew, Rina, Nadia, Tony, Luke, Debbie, Jeremiah, Valenica, Corinna and Austin; great-grandfather of Devin, Elijah, Timothy, Matthew, Lakota, Sarina, Samara and Nashiya.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 36 years, Ruth; his parents, John and Marguerite Frymier; and brother,  Willard Frymier.

A  memorial service will be held Thursday, May 19, 2011 at 11 A.M. at First Baptist Church, 11400 Lagrange Rd., Elyria.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to First Baptist Church.

Arrangements by the Craciun Berry Funeral Home, Westlake (440)331-0999.
