Wednesday, June 29

9:22 a.m. — 1200 block East Ave., vacant house broken into and copper piping stolen.

12:12 p.m. — 200 block Carol Lane, Ernest E. Anderson, 49, 300 block Eighth St., Elyria, charged with burglary for allegedly trying to steal a $2,300 bicycle from out of a garage.

9:16 p.m. — 10 block Woodford Ave., $400 leaf blower stolen off front porch.

11 p.m. — Spitzer Plaza, 523 Broad St., Thomas J. Fagan Jr., 48, 300 block Washington Ave., charged with two counts of arson for allegedly setting a garbage bin on fire behind Spitzer Plaza and for a fire on Tuesday behind Moss’ Prime Rib and Spaghetti House.

Thursday, June 30

1:35 a.m. — 300 block Kansas Ave., woman confronted man in her kitchen, man, who apparently broke in through the garage, ran away.

1:52 a.m. — 600 block Oakdale Court, cars in garage broken into and $200 in cash and credit cards stolen.
4:06 a.m. — 1800 block Middle Ave., Jessica A. Cofield, 23, 1800 block Middle Ave., Elyria, charged with assault for allegedly punching or pushing neighbor in stomach.

9:01 a.m. — 300 block Hamilton Circle, purse stolen from vehicle.

10:01 a.m. — Sidelines Sports Grill, 105 Fairlawn Drive, TV stolen from restaurant wall overnight.

11:40 a.m. — 400 block Auburn St., purse stolen during home burglary.

1:13 p.m. — Walmart, 1000 Chestnut Commons Drive, Donald Hwodeky, 41, 400 block Oakdale Circle, charged with theft of dash installation kit.

Saturday, July 2

12:15 a.m. — 38535 Chestnut Ridge Road, Convenient Food Mart, Terry J. Huiett, 35, Elyria, charged with theft after police said he took a $2.50 energy drink and tried to leave without paying.

Friday, July 1

2:12 p.m. — 1600 block Lake Ave., Herbert Johnson, 55, Elyria, charged with public indecency after a woman told police the man was exposing himself from the porch of a vacant house. Police found the man sitting by a backyard fence drinking water. When police asked him about the incident, the man simply said he was sorry.

Saturday July 2

12:32 p.m. — 800 block Lake Ave., Matthew S. Wilson, 30 1000 block Water St., charged with domestic violence for allegedly slapping his girlfriend’s arm during an argument over money she said he owed her. Wilson said his girlfriend slapped him in the face.

4:18 p.m. — 100 block Harwood St., break-in earlier in the day through basement window, about $15 in change stolen.

Sunday, July 3

12:30 a.m. – 200 block Franklin Ave., Christopher Williams, age not available, 900 block West River Road, Elyria, charged with domestic violence, but not arrested after allegedly choking the woman he fathered three children with after she asked him to leave her home.
